BYLC at Coventry Council’s Road Safety Summit 2026
Because your Life Counts and Smartlearner Driving School were invited by Taiwo Owatemi MP to partake in a Panel discussion regarding road safety and the required changed with Coventry.
Josh Sandhu and Glenn Hartwell represented both the Charity and the Driving School.
It was an honour to be selected as part of the expert Panel consisting of key members within the community. BYLC being recognised as a key player for road safety across the City was a very proud moment, and one that continues to motivate our work across schools and groups within Coventry and the surrounding areas.
Watch the Panel introduce themselves
Both Glenn and Josh were in esteemed company as they introduced themselves to the Panel. Watch as the Panel says hello and tells you what they do. There was then an opportunity for questions at the end, which allowed the local community to be heard.
Glenn had a powerful piece on what needs to change.
There were fantastic questions and opportunities for the Charity to discuss our vision and how we think change will be effective. We enjoyed our chance to interact with the local community and to listen to what their concerns were. BYLC were inundated with the 60 local people who gave up their Friday night to work as a collective to improve road safety.
BYLC and Smartlearner will now work with Taiwo and her team to write an open letter to the Government on the findings and what needs to change.
Want to have your say? We have envelopes within our office which you can collect for free to join the discussion and to let the local Council know what you think of the roads in Coventry!
